BillCalc Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 13, 2026

BillCalc is a billing and receipt-printing app for small shops. This page explains what data the app collects, how it's used, and the choices you have — in plain language.

Data stored only on your device

Your bills, item lists, store details (name, address, phone, footer), quick-add items, and app settings are stored locally in the app's own database and preferences. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly print, share, or back it up (see below).

Analytics (Firebase Analytics)

We use Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) to understand feature usage in aggregate — for example, how many bills are saved or printed, which settings screens are opened, or whether a print attempt succeeded. These events never include your bill contents, customer names, or store details. Firebase Analytics collects standard technical data (device model, app version, coarse location such as country/region, and a randomly generated app-instance identifier), as described in Google's Privacy Policy.

Crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics)

If the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, a crash report (stack trace, device/OS info, app version) is sent to Firebase Crashlytics so we can find and fix the bug. Crash reports do not include your bill contents.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

BillCalc shows ads on its Settings screens only — never on the core billing/printing screens — via Google AdMob. This may use your device's Advertising ID and other information for ad delivery and, where you've consented, ad personalization and measurement. Users in the UK, EEA, Switzerland (and anywhere else Google's consent framework applies) are shown a consent form on first launch where you can decline personalized ads. AdMob's ad partners may collect and process data under their own privacy policies — see Google's Ad Privacy & Terms.

Google Drive backup (optional — off unless you turn it on)

If you choose to sign in and enable backup in Settings, BillCalc:

You can disconnect at any time from Settings → Backup & Restore, or by revoking BillCalc's access from your Google Account's third-party access page. To permanently delete your backup data from Google Drive, use the in-app "Delete my backup data" button in Settings → Backup & Restore — see Delete Your Data for step-by-step instructions.

Install attribution

On first launch, BillCalc reads the Play Install Referrer once to see whether the install came from a shared link (for example, a link on a shared bill or a "Share App" message). This is limited to campaign-tag information (source/medium/campaign) — not personal data.

Bluetooth

If you use a Bluetooth thermal printer, BillCalc uses Bluetooth only to connect to and print on that printer. No bill data is sent anywhere else over Bluetooth.

What we don't do

We don't sell your personal data. We don't operate a server that stores your bill contents — everything billing-related stays on your device, or in your own Google Drive under your control if you opt into backup.

Your choices & rights

Users in the EEA/UK (GDPR) and California (CCPA/CPRA) have specific rights to access, delete, and restrict use of their data — the choices above cover these in practice, since BillCalc collects very little that's tied to an identifiable person.

Children's privacy

BillCalc is a business tool for shop owners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page if what the app collects or how it's used changes, and update the "Last updated" date above.
